Demi Lovato blasts drug-rapping duo on The X Factor USA

Demi Lovato blasts drug-rapping duo on The X Factor USA
She’s made no secret of her troubles with drink and drugs in the past, and even spent some time in rehab to help her overcome her issues with addiction.
So it’s no surprise that X Factor judge Demi Lovato didn’t take too kindly to a pair of hopefuls rapping about taking drugs.
The rappers took to the X Factor stage in Greensboro, North Carolina, (the same place where fellow judge Britney Spears stormed off when a cross-dressing singer butchered one of her hits) and started reeling off offensive lyrics about taking bath salts.
“She wasn't having any of it,” a source told E! “She said ‘It's really irresponsible to be rapping about drugs in front of kids.’ Then they tried to make excuses and Demi said, ‘You talked about bath salts, I heard you.’”
Bath salts are an addictive synthetic powder that has the same effects as cocaine and crystal meth. It’s been in the news recently as it’s been linked to a number of brutal murders in America.
US President Barack Obama signed new legislation yesterday that bans two chemical compounds in the United States that are used to make bath salts.

Kicked out

After confronting the young rappers Demi told them leave the stage, the source said, and the ‘rest of the judges completely backed her.’
The audience also booed the duo as they left.

Demi's relationship with drugs

The 19-year-old has always been honest about her difficult relationship with addiction in the past. But she's now back on track and even told Seventeen magazine in January that she thinks “sober is sexy.”
And at the time she also told E! “Now I cherish a whole new meaning to my career, which is to be an inspiration. I think I've been given a voice for a reason...Everything happened for a reason and it's no coincidence that I've been put through a lot at such a young age.”
